DANKESCHÖN

Dankeschön was a movement artist of special quality and had three outstanding gaits. In 2010 he was the sovereign 70 day Test Winner in Warendorf with a total index of 127.33. He convinced both the best in dressage (127.03 points), as well as good jumping performance (115.61 points), where he finished 3rd.

Among other things, he received 9.5 for his outstanding temperament and a 9.0 for rideability, crotch, gallop and willingness to perform.

In 2012 Dankeschön participated in the Bundeschampionat of five-year-old dressage horses after finishing 2nd in the riding horse championship in Lingen as a four-year-old. He competed succesfully to Intermediare II level in Germany under Henrike Sommer before he was based in the UK full time. Dankeschön continued his training towards competing at Grand Prix, thanks to his easy going temperament and amazing trainability.

His famous father Danone I, was 2003 champion stallion and was licensed in Verden in 2004. He qualified for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf and was, in the same year, finalist at the world championships of the young horses in Verden.

The State Premium Mare Fantasy by Fidermark is full sister to the licensed stallions Farewell I - IV. She passed an excellent broodmare exam with the final score of 8.19 and was the final ring mare of the Westphalian Elite Show 1997. Besides Dankeschön she brought two more licensed sons with Dancing Diamond and Marbach Davos, who had successes in riding and show jumping.

Dankeschön’s descendants are extremely successful in riding and dressage horse tests. His daughter Dancing Magic was with an 8.2 best participant in dressage at the mare performance test in Munster - Handorf in July 2017 and finished second overall. In 2015, he presented six participants who were awarded the title of State Premium Mare. Dankeschön descendants also have great success at auction sites. Among other things, his son Dresscode was sold for €150,000 at the private auction of Hof Borgmann in June 2018. In 2019, a 2yo son was presented at the Westphalian Stallion licensing and was one of only 12 stallions to be licensed with ‘Premium’ status. He was later sold at auction for €100,000, another Dankeschön descendant reaching over €100k at an auction site. Despite Dankeschön’s passing in 2019, 2020 is no exception as another one of his sons is due to be presented at the Westphalian Stallion licensing and looks set to achieve another big price. He has produced several offspring now that have made it to the Bundeschampionat in the disciplines of Dressage and Jumping.

Dankeschön had a lot of stallion presence and was compact. He suits various types of mares which is apparent with his progeny, including suiting blood mares. He not only passes on his movement and striking looks to his offspring, which he stamps well. He also passes on his superb rideability and wonderful temperament.
